The Importance of Knowing Which Houston Brokerage Firms Are 'In the Know

UK-based BP is looking to sublease 240,000 square feet of office space in two of its Westlake campus buildings, the Houston Business Journal recently reported. The space represents 11 percent of the office space on the campus, where some of the buildings already have other tenants.

A company spokesperson stated that the decision is simply to consolidate BP's footprint at its U.S. headquarters to owned buildings instead of leased space, the report noted. The offices that they're looking to sublease include portions of the Westlake Two and Westlake Three buildings. BP also occupies other buildings at the Westlake Campus, including Westlake One, Westlake Four, and Helios Plaza.

BP is one of several energy-related companies with Houston Office Space to announce job cuts recently. Others include Halliburton, Baker Hughes, and FMC Technologies. Slumping oil prices have been cited as the reason for the reductions in staff. However, while the energy industry is struggling, other industries around Houston continue to thrive.

BP's space is just one option in a city with many options for businesses who are looking to relocate or expand. If you're looking for the perfect space for your company to call home, perhaps you're wondering which of the Houston brokerage firms is "in the know" not only in matters of real estate but in the city and all the different things that each part of it has to offer, as well. LandPark Commercial has that knowledge and is ready to put it to work for you, along with our extensive network of contacts, to find the place you want at a price you can afford.
